When I drew the cartoon, I was thinking purely of the offensively trivial things corporations do instead of giving raises. But it sounds like you interpreted it as a political comment?

nah, i got (and enjoyed) the intended meaning. but after thinking about it a second longer, I couldn’t resist making the political comment
